About Jorgen Ingmar Alofs:


Born in Arnhem, The Netherlands, Internationally renowned drummer Jorgen Ingmar Alofs began playing music at a young age. But it was not until he was 14 years old, that he bought his first drum set which sent him on a life changing journey.

A year after Jorgen was born, he and his parents moved from The Netherlands to Germany. His mother and father listened to many different styles of music, from Tchaikovsky, Schubert and Beethoven to The Beatles, Joe Cocker and The Rolling Stones. His father was a world class whistler and his grandfather played piano and organ in a church in The Hague, The Netherlands. After 8 years in Germany, Jorgen moved back to The Netherlands and lived in a small border town called Aalten, where he joined the local marching band (A.O.V) to play snare drum, and also started playing the trombone.

When he was 14 years old, Jorgen bought his first drum set and started playing in his first original band. After private drum lessons by Dutch jazz drummer Dries Bijlsma, he attended the Conservatory of Music in Arnhem,The Netherlands, where he was instructed by Rene Creemers and Joop Van Erven. During that time he also attended master classes from Gary Chaffee. Jorgen was always into learning different styles of music, and with a very musical ear, he is known as a great musician and creative drummer, that plays what’s right for the song.

In 1994 he moved to Los Angeles, and since then has been performing and recording with many different artists. Some of his credits include Stevie Wonder, Babyface, J.J. Jackson, Hank Ballard, Chris Penn, Donny Gerrard, Sir Cliff Richard, Denny Laine, Alexi Murdoch, Tyrone Wells, Matt Bissonette, Justin Grennan, Barrett Johnson, Dallas Kruse, and many many more...

Currently, Jorgen does a lot of freelance studio sessions & live shows, records and performs with a number of different groups and singer/songwriters within the greater Los Angeles & Orange County area, and also performs at some churches, including Sea Coast Grace church, in Cypress, California. He also plays the driving tribute roll as U2’s drummer, Larry Mullen Jr. in one of the worlds greatest U2 Tribute bands

Jorgen owns and operates a professional recording studio where he records drum tracks for many different clients. He also programs and records drum and percussion loops and composes & produces music for artists, radio, film and TV.

In addition to studio sessions, live gigs, loop programming and composing, Jorgen teaches drums privately. Among some of his students are the children of director Steven Spielberg, actor Adam Baldwin, actor & film maker Thomas Wilson Brown, composer Richard Perlmutter and many more.
